The People's Potato

The People’s Potato is a vegan soup kitchen at Concordia University - a student initiated project that was founded in 1999 in order to address student poverty. We offer by donation meals each day of the week during the Fall and Winter semesters. We serve more than 400 meals daily to students, community members with the help of our dedicated volunteers. We are committed to educating about healthy cooking and food politics and to broader goals of social and environmental justice.

WE'RE BACK!

The People's Potato is back from summer vacation!

We welcome you to come to eat on the 7th floor of the Hall Building, every weekday from 12:30 - 2:00.

Come volunteer in the kitchen in order to eat right away! We accept volunteers to help us cook and wash dishes, every day from 9 am to 3 pm!

Requesting a serving or our kitchen?

The People’s Potato accepts requests both for solidarity servings and for outside groups to use our kitchen space. A solidarity serving refers to food prepared by collective members of the People’s Potato for special events that fall within our mandate of social and environmental justice. We prioritize working in solidarity with other grassroots and community movements that mobilize in order to create a more just world from the ground up. A kitchen request simply refers to the use of our kitchen space and equipment. The same priority will be given to groups whose work falls within our mandate.
