The People's Potato is back from summer break and we're pumped for this upcoming year of serving and special events!
We serve up delicious and pay-by-donation vegan food (containing no animal products) every weekday at 12:30 on the 7th floor of the Hall building. Join us for lunch, and come by anytime to volunteer: you can choose from a variety of fun tasks such as chopping veggies, serving food to your friends, or getting your hands soap-suddy with dish washing!
In the coming weeks, we'll be kick-starting our street-serving initiative. In addition to serving lunch in the Hall building, this project seeks to increase our accessibility by bringing sandwiches to the streets! We rely heavily on volunteers to make this happen, so if you're interested, come get involved!
In solidarity with other anti-corporate and anti-oppression student and community organizations, we also cater events and/or make our kitchen space available for use. If your group is interested, please fill out the the kitchen request form and send it to peoplespotato@gmail.com
Thanks and stay tuned,
The People's Potato
The People’s Potato is a vegan soup kitchen at Concordia University - a student initiated project that was founded in 1999 in order to address student poverty. We offer by donation meals each day of the week during the Fall and Winter semesters. We serve more than 400 meals daily to students, community members with the help of our dedicated volunteers. We are committed to educating about healthy cooking and food politics and to broader goals of social and environmental justice.
